2012 BALI Award Winner
With stunning views over the medieval village of Culross to the Firth of Forth and the bridges beyond, this award-winning garden has a very special location indeed.
Designed by Carolyn Grohmann it includes a figure of eight shaped pond, a Scottish larch arbour with sedum roof, cedar decks, a wildflower garden, a boardwalk from the house across the lawn to keep feet clean for entering the hot tub, and borders filled with plantings of grasses and rich herbaceous colours. The BALI judge loved this south-facing garden, commenting ‘all the work has been carried out to a very high standard and the finished result surpassed the clients’ expectations’. It appeared in the July/August 2012 issue of Homes and Interiors Scotland. It is a garden for all seasons and looks good in the summer when the wildflower meadow is in full bloom but equally stunning on a winter’s day with frost catching the grasses and seed-heads.
