This garden was featured in the Scotland on Sunday atHome magazine and came to Water Gems through garden designer Carolyn Grohmann.
The client's brief was to create interest in a very flat part of the garden which had previously been a tennis court. As the area is viewed from upstairs windows, a strong design was required.
The solution comprises a winding, dry-stone wall with grass banking creating a ha-ha effect. For adults the garden provides a sunny space to sit while the children love to run along the walls and banking.
Two identical water features are incorporated into the walls and feed a small wetland garden at the opening in the wall which encourages wildlife and provides lush planting in an otherwise exposed site.
